This all-time Australian comedy classic is an absolute riot from start to finish. Although it may have been seen with an element of cultural cringe in the ’70s, the film has only got better with age. This is one of those lost treasures which, like Don’s Party, you forget how good it actually is.
Packed with great rapid fire gags from start to finish. it features Barry Crocker as our na?ve and hapless hero – a young Melbourne man on his way to mother England for the first time. What ensues is nothing less than inspired mayhem, as Barry unknowingly sets about shaking up the uptight English to the core with his equal parts good-natured innocence and larrikin antics. His search for the ingredients in the making of an ‘exotic aphrodisie’ is side-splitting and unforgettable. An absolute crowd pleaser.
