Storm Boy

The power of friendship and devotion is at the heart of this classic Australian film.

Mike is an 11-year-old kid living with his dad in a wildlife sanctuary which is a haven for bird life. When he meets Fingerbone Bill (David Gulpilil) Mike’s eyes are opened to his surroundings, as he learns about the land, the sea and the Aboriginal people. However, it is his unique friendship with a wild pelican that will change his life forever.

If you have fond memories of seeing Storm Boy when it was released 28 years ago, Big Screen now gives teachers and parents an opportunity to introduce one of our most beloved films to a new generation.

Based on the children’s novel by Colin Thiele and winner of the 1977 AFI Award for Best Film.
