βThe originalBabewas an astonishment, an unheralded family movie from Australia that was embraced and loved and nominated for an Oscar as best picture. Can the sequel possibly live up to it? It can, and does, and in many ways is more magical than the original.β Roger Ebert Chicago Sun Times

βBabe: Pig in the City is one of my all time favourite Australian films. It's Doctor George Miller's neglected masterpiece.
If the first film, Babe, was about innocence - just a great film for children and the child that's inside adults - Babe: Pig in the City true to the Kennedy-Miller ethos, just breaks tradition with its first part.
It inadvertently touches on, I think, the notion of the stolen generations, multiculturalism, the divide between urban and regional Australia. But it never states them as major themes because it's still wrapped up in the universality of being a fairy tale.β
