BigScreen - Big Screen Home

I've loved Australian movies ever since I saw 'My Brilliant Career', 'Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith', 'Careful He Might Hear You', 'Storm Boy' and 'Mad Max', and was inspired to become part of the industry myself. I'll never forget waiting excitedly for the reels of 'Seven Little Australians' to arrive each Friday at school in Alice Springs when I was 10. Big Screen brings our own films to those of us who might not get a chance to see them, or have missed such wonderful films that celebrate our own identity.

Tara Morice graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1987. She is an experienced singer, and has trained in dance. Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University, majoring in History and English. She came to prominence as the ugly duckling Fran in Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom. Her recent credits include films Hildegarde, Hotel Sorrento and Metal Skin. She was nominated for a BAFTA and AFI Award for her role in Strictly Ballroom.
