Australian films have been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. When I was a teenager in Newcastle I used to take a bus to the one arthouse cinema in town to see low-budget Aussie gems like 'Going Down' and 'Careful He might Hear You'. Seeing Australian films made me feel alive, excited and inspired, and I desperately wanted to be part of the Australian film industry. The day my agent told me I had won the part of Tania in 'Muriel's Wedding' I felt I had entered a magical realm. I'm proud to be part of Big Screen, bringing the wonder of Australian cinema to regional Australia. The tour promises to be one of the cultural highlights of my year.
