I grew up in the bush. Not just the bush, the bush CAPITAL - Canberra. So I understand what it is to be deprived of the fruits of the big cities. It's just take, take, take with the big cities (and they're up themselves) and it's about time there was a little give, give, give.
This program should have been in place since the salvos made their flick 'Soldiers of the Cross' in 1900 (the world's first feature film). Better late than never. Like long-wanted rain in a drought, I hope this deluge of Aussie cinema brings tears of laughter, joy and recognition and, even more than that, I hope it causes even one or two kids from the bush to think 'bugger it, I could do that'. - Rhys Muldoon |
